this looks very nice but I couldn't get gmail to work. my user name includes "@gmail.com". I don't know if that was the problem. I kept getting an authorization error.

Thanks!, Yeah, don't include the @gmail.com part, as it will think the username is username@gmail.com@gmail.com.. So just take that off and if it is still causing problems, just let me know.

hmm..if both your username and password are right, then the only think that i can think of is: what version of perl are you running (perl --version) in terminal.
