If you use gnome 2.x (ubuntu 10.10 or lower) -> Setthis as a panel background, as as for slingshot...which operating system do you use?

Another thing things is that: how can i move the clock to the center of the panel and how can i get get rid of the user's name?

no problem bro, for moving the clock, i right clicked on it and selected 'move', then estimated where the middle of the screen was. as for the other thing...im not sure..i think this setup used an option in the 'ubuntu-tweak' application (i think..i am a little fuzzy..)
